On December 15, 2017 the General Director of the Federal Communications Agency gave the first Transport Infrastructure Certificate – data communication, reception and transmission systems – to Sergey Makarenko, Fort Telecom CEO.
In March 2017, Government Resolution No. 969 "Requirements for functional properties and rules for certification of technical systems for ensuring transport security" came into force. From now on, all transport safety facilities, such as airports and railway stations, must be equipped with certified telecommunications equipment that meets the requirements of this regulation.
Since March, the Federal Communications Agency received a total of 129 applications for the certification of data communication, reception and transmission systems.
Fort Telecom was honored to be the first holder of the security certificate. For this purpose, the certification body tested three models of PSW series switches (PSW-1G4F-UPS, PSW-2G4F-UPS, PSW-2G2F + UPS) to confirm their reliability and compliance with the technical requirements. The remaining models of TFortis PSW outdoor switches will be certified in the near future.
"The certificate means that the equipment can be used without restriction in the construction of the telecommunications structure of transport safety systems. The Federal Communications Agency, which is authorized by the state, made sure that Fort Telecom switches are a high quality and effective solution fit for purpose, which is now confirmed by the type-approval certificate. TFortis equipment is a line of Fort Telecom products that comprises PSW switches. These products have become popular with designers and consumers due to high reliability and effectiveness in building unattended IP video surveillance networks. Now TFortis has another reason to participate in significant transport infrastructure project", said Sergey Makarenko, Fort Telecom CEO.
